I am a good person and certainly much better than a lot of other people.
Why do I need a savior or salvation?
Are you a "good person" in comparison to other people or in comparison to God
who is perfect in His character?
You may claim that you are good , but God claims otherwise in Psalm 14:2-3.
Isaiah 64:6 tells us that in the eyes of God, "all our righteous acts are like filthy rags."
We all are sinners by nature as Romans 3:23 points out, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
"As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10
Sin means missing the mark of perfection, one sin makes us a sinner and God can not have fellowship with us because of our sins. The sin nature is inherent in us.
So how do we find favor with God?
The answer is, having "faith" in Jesus. It is through Him that we can have fellowship with God.
Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through me."
Paul sums up the only way to obtain salvation in Romans 10:9, "That if you
confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
If you want to invite Jesus into your life and find that eternal life, say this prayer with us:
"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be." Amen.
